Minotaur Maze Game

After the Clickable Poems workshop, I have been exploring Twine more, and I enjoy it a lot. I've also found a resource on how to connect Twine to a small game engine called Bitsy. I am exploring that at this time.

November 17th 2025 Notes

I am trying to turn my zine The Labyrinth Beneath Your Feet Book into a game using Godot.

I am envisioning two modes. One in which the game is a hybrid game/zine. You just move the minotaur through the maze, and when you enter the rooms, the text is read out, and maybe an animation plays.

The other is a PVP mode with Theseus and the Minotaur. Theseus runs through the maze, a red thread follows, and the minotaur runs away. A red thread is left behind him.

Game boots up to menu. Choose between two modes. ZINE / GAME / BOTH

Game Mode:

• Starts up, focus on minotaur. When minotaur moves certain amount left or right, zoom out to show Theseus moving elsewhere in the maze
• Zoom back to minotaur who...maybe needs to pick certain things up?
• Hades 2 inspo - little glimmers that trigger cut scenes or exposition

Tasks

• Remake minotaur and theseus in my style
• Fix wonky parts of the canvas
• what if i added the graph paper lines back in, and the characters look like drawings come to life? oh shit ✅ 2025-11-27
• figure out how to program trail of words behind theseus
  • tilemap? particles?
• Draw out the vision for the trail behind theseus for asking advice
• Smooth out smudgey areas from map @completed(2026-05-21T08:15:21-06:00)
• Increase margin around walls for theseus ✅ 2026-06-14
